How do you feel about your birthday? Do you look forward to it and remind all your friends, or do you dread it and try to keep it a secret?
The only way to avoid aging is dying young so....
I love my birthday!!!! I feel slightly embarassed because the attention is on me, but I love feeling the loving and carig thoughts of people around me, and for my lost b'day (40th!!!) I had a lovely party on a tramway, that was more crowede with friends than in peak-time!!! we had a lor of fun and my favorite cake (bitter chocolate, walnuts and chestnuts!) And a ton of gifts too!
(and I cried a lot because I was so moved by all that affection around me...) (blush)
What do you do with the cards and letters you receive? Do you keep them all, just keep the photos, throw them away?
Inspired by jacolily.
I have to admit I throw them away almost immediately. I lread them, appreciate them, answer them. Once answered, out with in recycle paper bin. I keep all for 29 days in a month, on the 30th I throw away half of the house. Or else I'd have no more room for myself.
What was your reaction to the results of the Iowa caucuses?
worry, worry, and then some more worry. I hoped in a very strong support for Hillary, because even if I understand that she's "old skool politics made by rich families", I think her program might be a start to come out of the venomous grey gun smoke left by this man Bush and start something new.
And I'm really scared about Huckabee. I visited his site, and at every word I read my nape hair stood more on ends.... this man is DANGEROUS!!!! He's, if possible, even more fascist than Bush!!! "As Governor, I protected gun manufacturers from frivolous law suits" (frivolous?!? are you JOKING?????) "I'm a very avid hunter" (Wow, surprise! He likes to kill innocent animals!) "When the federal ban on assault weapons expired in 2004, I said, "May it rest in peace." It won't be returning in the Huckabee Administration." (you needed one more reason not to vote him?) "I was the first Governor in the country to have a concealed handgun license, and of course I'm a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association." (OF COURSE.)
And what about the immigration issue?
"Ensure that an interlocking surveillance camera system is installed along the border by July 1, 2010. Ensure that the border fence construction is completed by July 1, 2010. "
Wow, walls and fences. What a modern, illuminated man.
Something even more serious to worry about:
"My convictions regarding the sanctity of life have always been clear and consistent, without equivocation or wavering. I believe that Roe v. Wade should be over-turned." "we still have many battles ahead of us to protect those who cannot protect themselves, and so it is vital that we elect a pro-life President. "
battles? what have BATTLES to do with protecting LIFE? OOOOOH, now I get it, You want that unwanted babies to be born and to grow, so they can learn to walk, and to run... because you have a concealed weapon and you like to hunt. Someone tell this dangerous lunatic that we are out of Middle Age!!!!
Oh, right, battles. Let's talk about Iraq. I can see he's showing a real fatherly worry for your kids fighting there.
"Setting a timetable for withdrawal is a mistake. This country has never declared war until "a week from Wednesday," we have always declared war until victory." (he's not in Iraq, though. Peculiar, indeed.)
Now, let's talk family.
"I support and have consistently supported passage of a federal constitutional amendment that defines marriage as a union between one man and one woman."
and you are not ashamed of yourself in the least, I suppose. This wholly defines you.
Guys, I'm scared. Tell me this man won't win.
